President´s Report

Review and Outlook

In 2012, we witnessed another successful year for the robotics industry! Of course, the increase of demand for robots has lost its momentum due to the weakening economic situation in many countries especially in the Euro zone, in Japan and in North America. However, the interest in robotics and the acceptance level of robots have continuously increased. Despite the unsure global economic forecast we are looking forward with confidence to 2013.

RIA, USA - IFR Industry Association

North American Robotics Industry Up 20% in 2012

North American based robotics companies are in the midst of another strong year, with new orders up 20%, according to new statistics released by Robotic Industries Association (RIA). A total of 16,363 robots valued at $1.1 billion were ordered in the first nine months by companies in North America, an increase of 20% in units and 29% in dollars over the same period in 2011. Including numbers from outside North America, the totals are 18,844 robots valued at $1.25 billion.

Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robotics Association (TAIROA), sponsor of Taipei International Robot Show, signed a cooperation agreement on Nov.8 with China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIF) and EASTPO Exhibition Co., ltd. to set up a Taiwan pavilion in 2013 CIROS.

New YS-080G3 robot completes the handling robot series of Panasonic

Panasonic Robot and Welding Systems Europe presents with the new YS-080G3 robot its third handling robot. Along with the HS-165G3 and HS-200G3 the YS-080G3 is rounding out the handling robot series of Panasonic. Offering payload capacity of 80 kg and a maximum working range of 2.24 m. Its application is the handling of tools, work pieces and welding equipment.
