President´s Report

What are the Challenges for IFR in the future?

The annual study World Robotics has just been published and forecasts are promising. The Robotics industry is looking into a bright future. Challenges facing our industry are not easy but they are feasible. One of the most important challenges I think is the human robot cooperation, i.e. robot assistant.  The implementation of this technique including advanced safety measures, easier, flexible and even more interactive programming and integration will open up plenty of new application fields.

Reliable mass production

The production of eight million brake light switches annually is subject to its own set of priorities. Flexibility is less important here than other factors such as maximization of output and reliability of process. A pioneering plant with an efficient precision injection molding machine and two ultra-precise robots at its heart is taking care of those jobs where cycle time is critical.
