Total machine vision sales in North America are down four percent year over year for the first nine months of 2012, according to new statistics from AIA, the industry's trade group and sister association of RIA. The decrease in total machine vision sales resulted primarily from the weakening of machine vision system sales through September 2012, which fell five percent. more

Ten leading system integrators have now received the new Certified Robot Integrator designation from the Robotic Industries Association. QComp Technologies, Inc. and Wynright Robotics Solutions are the two newest RIA Certified Robot Integrators. more
RIA's Certified Robot Integrator program, having reached the milestone level of ten certified integrators, invites additional integrators to apply for certification. Applications are being accepted. Each Integrator goes through a rigorous process including an on-site audit, safety training and a hands-on testing of key personnel to confirm that they meet the requirements of the new Certified Robot Integrator designation.

The Robotic Industries Association has just opened nominations for the world's most prestigious robotics honor, the 2013 Engelberger Robotics Award. Robot safety training seminars will be conducted by RIA in three regional U.S. locations, including the first-ever stop in Apex, North Carolina. The three consecutive months of training commence in February, with Orlando kicking off the 2013 sessions on February 26, followed by Tanner, Alabama (hosted by Alabama Industrial Development Training -AIDT) on March 5 and Apex, NC (hosted by ATI Industrial Automation) on April 9. Each seminar begins with R15.06 Robot Safety Standard training, followed by a session on Risk Assessment. Seminars looks towards the requirements as anticipated in the new R15.06 Standard document as contained in the new ISO 10218 Standards.
