On November 6th, the two thousandth W818 robot was officially given over to a German customer of WITTMANN Kunststoffgeräte GmbH. The representatives of
PP-PLASTIC were welcomed in the WITTMANN production hall in Vienna where the event took place. This remarkable quantity was reached after a series production time of only two years.

North American Robotics Industry Up 20% in 2012

North American based robotics companies are in the midst of another strong year, with new orders up 20%, according to new statistics released by Robotic Industries Association (RIA). A total of 16,363 robots valued at $1.1 billion were ordered in the first nine months by companies in North America, an increase of 20% in units and 29% in dollars over the same period in 2011. Including numbers from outside North America, the totals are 18,844 robots valued at $1.25 billion.

Infobótica Research Group - 2012 scientific report

Our research group has achieved several scientific results this year, including scientific articles in peer-review journals, scientific projects awarded by public calls and communications to conferences and meetings. Members of the Infobótica Research Group have published a RESEARCH ARTICLE entitled "Towards a new open communication standard between homes and service robots, the DHCompliant case" in the Robotics and Autonomous System journal. The aim of this article was to present a new protocol to integrate domestic robots into a smart home environment.
