News from the IFR Statistical Department
World Robotics 2010 - Industrial Robots and Service Robots are published today
The IFR Statistical Department presents two separate studies for the main robot categories:
World Robotics 2010 Industrial Robots provides detailed statistical data for some 40 countries, broken down by application areas, industrial branches, types of robots and by other technical and economic variables. Data on production, exports and imports are presented for a selection of countries. Trends in robot densities, i.e. number of robots per 10,000 persons employed in relevant sectors, are also featured for almost all countries in the world. The forecast chapter informs on robotic trends as well as on customer trends. Case studies on green automation, the presentation of the winning application of the IERA Award 2010, the report on a robotized pilot plant for the clothing industry and the news of the international robotics standardisation activities complete the survey.
World Robotics 2010 Service Robots presents comprehensive global statistics on service robots, forecasts, detailed market analysis including major producers, cost-benefit-considerations and major restraints on further diffusion, case studies (start-ups of service robot suppliers), international research strategies of service robots, a finalist of the IERA 2010 Award and selected research labs in service robotics. The market analysis is authored by Martin Hägele, Chairman of the IFR Service Robot Group Head of Department "Robot Systems" Fraunhofer IPA, Stuttgart, Germany.
