IFR CEO Round Table Discussion at the Automate in Chicago
Robots create Jobs!

The 4th IFR CEO Round Table discussion on 22 January 2013 at the Automate in Chicago focused on the impact of industrial robots on employment. Two robot users from the United States, Drew Greenblatt from Marlin Steel, Matt Tyler from Vickers Engineering, discussed together with a US robot supplier, John Dulchinos, Adept Technology and a robot researcher Professor Alexander Verl, Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation Germany. They also touched on other issues such as human-machine interaction, the need for a more educated workforce and the breakthrough of service robots.
The main result of the discussion was that robotics and automation are job creators. Drew Greenblatt and Matt Tyler reported about the increased productivity, increasing exports and more productive, more satisfied and more dedicated employees. Both companies increased jobs by using robots.
