Andreas Bauer re-elected as Chairman Robot Suppliers

In Tokyo, the representatives of robot suppliers like ABB, Fanuc, Kawasaki, OTC-Daihen, Nachi, Universal, Yaskawa re-elected Andreas Bauer, Director Marketing at the German robot manufacturer KUKA, as Chairman of the new founded "Robot Suppliers Committee". This Committee represents the interests of the worldwide industrial robotics industry within the IFR. The global turnover of the industrial robotics industry was about US$ 26 billion in 2012.

"Tail wind for robotics is coming from the general trends in manufacturing industries: to increase flexibility, quality, and output rate, to improve the quality of work for employees, and to produce more efficiently. Furthermore, the robotics industry is aware of its social responsibility to create a better working environment for employees regarding safety and health. We are also proud of various studies proving that robots do create jobs." Bauer said. "Besides serving as the "voice of robotics" the new committee will work on issues like supporting the development of young robotics scientists and engineers or supporting the IFR statistical department to provide robotics market data."

Andreas Bauer was elected as Chairman of the IFR Industrial Robot Suppliers Group once before in 2009. Since 2001, he is responsible for Strategic Marketing of the KUKA Robot Group.
