Between 4 and 11 October 2011, 16 young researchers from all over the world participated in the first IFR Research Lectures which were hosted by the Fraunhofer-Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation.

Deadline for Proposals and Abstracts: 10 January 2012

Until 10 January 2012 the ISR 2012 welcomes proposals for organized and invited sessions within the conference scope Intelligent Human-Robot Interaction. The 43rd International Symposium on Robotics (ISR) takes place during the Taipei International Robot Show (TIROS) in Taipei, Taiwan, August 29-31, 2012.

Robots to Create More Than a Million Jobs by 2016

ROBOTICS will be a major driver for global job creation over the next five years.  The announcement is based on a study conducted by the market research firm, Metra Martech, "Positive Impact of Industrial Robots on Employment", which was published on Thursday in Tokyo.

The First European Robotics Week - Great Success

The first European Robotics Week was held from November 28 to December 4, 2011.  More than 130 organisations and institutes in 19 European countries organised over 360 robotics related activities.

For the first time, standardization for human-robot-collaboration was addressed in ISO 10218-1 (Robots for industrial environments - Safety requirements - Part 1: Robot) in 2006
