Two robot users from the United States, Drew Greenblatt, Marlin Steel and Matt Tyler, Vickers Engineering confirmed this during the IFR CEO Round Table discussion at the Automate show in Chicago.

Robot supply to the United States continued to increase

"Despite the weak global economic development in 2012 the demand for global robot sales almost reached the all-time-high level of 2011", said Shinsuke Sakakibara, IFR President, on Thursday in Frankfurt. "Investments in automation are ongoing!"

The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) announced the publication of its updated research study titled "Positive Impact of Industrial Robots on employment." The study found that more than two million jobs will be created in the next eight years because of robotics in industry.

The 4th IFR CEO Round Table discussion on 22 January 2013 at the Automate in Chicago focused on the impact of industrial robots on employment. The discussion also touched on other issues such as human-machine interaction, the need for a more educated workforce and the breakthrough of service robots.

A total of 22,598 robots valued at $1.48 billion were sold to companies in North America in 2012, beating the previous record of 19,337 robots sold in 2011.
