2,000 W818 robots delivered!
On November 6th, the two thousandth W818 robot was officially given over to a German customer of WITTMANN Kunststoffgeräte GmbH. The representatives of PP-PLASTIC were welcomed in the WITTMANN production hall in Vienna where the event took place. This remarkable quantity was reached after a series production time of only two years.
PP-PLASTIC GmbH & Co. KG based in Neukirchen/Pleisse in Saxony was founded as a family business by Gustav and Tino Peuker in 1988. PP-PLASTIC is a DIN-certified company meeting the requirements of the ISO 9001:2008 standard. This molder of plastic parts is using the injection molding technology as well as rotational molding equipment. Not far from Zwickau, the company's production site employs about 90 people.

32 injection molding machines are in use, with clamping forces ranging from 15 to 2,200 tons. Part weights are ranging from 15 g to 15 kg.
PP-PLASTIC is especially involved with the manufacturing of floristry products, for example cachepots, but is also producing license plate brackets, and a variety of other plastic parts. Not least, the company has established itself as a supplier to the automotive industry.
All the company's injection molding machines are equipped with modern removal robots. And from now on, one of these processing machines will be assisted by the W818 "anniversary model", the two thousandth unit of this type.
The W818 model from WITTMANN is providing flexible automation for all current and future requirements on smaller molding machines. It is managing a maximum handling load of 6 kg. Minimum part removal times are essential for the highest productivity of the automation cell. Thus the vertical arms of the W818 models are stiff but lightweight ribreinforced aluminum profiles, driven via belt by a servo motor, thus reducing the moving mass.
Up to now it has been for 2,000 times that plastics processors have relied on the WITTMANN W818 - an impressing argument in regard to the productive efficiency and the flexible capabilities of this robot.
